Summer Camp- Special Education Paraprofessional

 

POSITION INFORMATION:

 

Assist the Special Education or General Education Teacher with classroom activities specifically designed to meet the individual needs of students that may be served in preschool, specialized (self-contained), resource or general education Summer Camp settings. This may include support with the following: supervision, safety monitoring, behavioral support, life-skills support including toileting/diapering/feeding and general hygiene, support with academic and life skills tasks, support with communication, support with social/emotional needs and with peer interactions or other duties as assigned.

 

SUMMER CAMP LOGISTICS: Summer Camp will be from June 1 – June 25, 2026
Monday through Thursday 8am-12pm.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Associates of Arts degree or two years of post-secondary education (60 credit hours) from an accredited college/university or proof of passing score on ParaPro Test. CPI training preferred. Negative TB test required for working in preschool setting.

*Ability to commit to all 16 days of services without absences plus 1 day prep.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

*Presents skill reinforcements or guides independent study activities to individuals or small groups of students as directed by the teacher.

*Familiarizes self with instructional materials to be used and learns how to use them properly.

*Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.

*Perform duties or requirements that are outlined in a student Individual Education Plan (IEP).

*Provides support for activities of daily living such as feeding/toileting.

*Provides supervision for safety and behavioral support.

*Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Principal/Administrator of Special Programs or supervising teacher.

 

Rate of Pay:

$18.00 per hour.
