TITLE:                       Counselor

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                       

REPORTS TO:         Principal

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Uses accepted theories and effective techniques to provide individual developmental, group developmental, preventive, remedial, and/or crisis counseling
  2. Facilitate the student led organizations (inter-curricular club).
  3. Provide students with support to identify and overcome barriers to success.
  4. Broker of resources-connect students and families to school and community resources.
  5. Provides support to teachers in assessing and dealing with social and emotional issues experienced by students.
  6. Documentation of services and outcome reporting.
  7. Coordinate High School Transition Events.
  8. Serves on the District Crisis Team
  9. Other duties as assigned.

Ten month employee, on the Certified Teacher Placement Schedule.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of Professional Staff.
