Crosswalk Attendant/Cafeteria Monitor

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

At least one year of experience in food service preparation including the ability to use prescribed recipes. Able to read and write English, do simple math, and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work in an environment with extreme differences in temperatures and conditions. Able to frequently lift-up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for six to eight hours a day. Must have the capacity to adjust to new situations and work under pressure. Must have manual dexterity and the ability to reach, bend, and stoop. Appearance must be neat with enclosed shoes required. A valid food handlers' card is required.  

 

REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Child Nutrition Services and Director of Operations 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  1. Assists in the preparation and cleanup of food. 
  2. Assists with setting up of serving line and with serving.
  3. Assists with washing dishes/pots/pans.
  4. Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  5. Assists in weighing ingredients on scales for portion control.
  6. Works with various appliances and utensils in the cafeteria.
  7. Place school zone signs on Schools cross streets and stop traffic for students to cross safely before school and after school 5 days per week.
  8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. 

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

 

Ten-month, Part-Time Position, beginning salary Grade One on the Classified Salary Schedule. Employee benefits in accordance with Board policies. 

 

EVALUATION: 

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
