QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree or higher in education.
- Appropriate State certification required.
- Principal Certification required.
- Three (3) years or more of successful teaching in K-8.
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.

JOB GOAL:
To serve as a an instructional leader of a 21st Century school which provides a world class education to a diverse student population. The Principal would support and monitor high academic achievement through curriculum and instruction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership through a continuous school improvement process.
- Manage the day to day operations of a school.
- Manage the day to day human relations activities with students, staff and community.
- Distributing, training and providing staff development for all districts and state assessments.
- Supervising and monitoring technology impacting student schedules and computer labs.
- Manage school budgets and resources such as school equipment, textbooks and other teaching materials.
- Conduct inservice training of staff in teaching strategies including: Essential Elements of Instruction (EEI), English Language Learner (ELL) methods, Special Education and 504 accommodations.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance including developing and assisting staff members with Improvement Plans.
- Monitor and supervise the ELL program.
- Monitor and supervise the services for the cognitively gifted students.
- Collaborate with high school district in placement and transition of students.
- Monitor Child Study Teams and other efforts dealing with student placement such as promotion/retention/classroom assignment.
- Provide support for monolingual students and parents in areas of discipline, communication and involvement.
- Coordinate substitute staff.
- Implement the school-wide discipline/citizenship program.
- Assist in any other functions assigned by the Superintendent
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employment year is twelve (12) months.
Holidays consistent with the adopted twelve month employee calendar.
Salary and contract terms to be established by the Governing Board.
