TITLE:                                              K-8 Instructional Coach

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                      

  • Current Arizona Certification
  • Demonstrates the ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction
  • Possesses collaborative leadership skills, mentoring skills and knowledge of the adult learners
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate assessment results and current literacy research
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to innovate
  • At least three years of teaching experience
  • Reading or Math Specialist Endorsement (preferred)
  • Master’s degree (preferred)

 

REPORTS TO:                                 Building Principal

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Contributes to the accomplishment of district and school goals and priorities.
  2. Serves as a lead facilitator for professional development.
  3. Provides instructional intervention as determined by the needs at the site.
  4. Facilitates grade levels in interpreting and utilizing various assessment data for instructional planning. 
  5. Models effective standards-based instructional practices to meet the needs of diverse student populations (ELD, SPED and etc).
  6. Facilitates implementation of effective research-based instructional strategies such as flexible grouping of students, differentiating instruction, guided reading, etc.
  7. Serves as a leader in the implementation of district curriculum and instructional programs.
  8. Participates in cognitive coaching training and serves as a coach.
  9. Works collaboratively with building and district administration;
  10. Participates in curriculum design, adoption and assessment development;
  11. Assists with the organization and implementation of district and state assessments;
  12. Serves as a communication liaison on the between teachers, parents community members, administration and students;
  13. Serve on the Instructional Support Team;
  14. Assists with the development, alignment and implementation of  Common  Core Standards;
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

Ten month. Salary in accordance to the Certified Teacher Placement Schedule.

 

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of professional staff.
